2013 Gympie Carcass Classic Results

We had 3 entries in this year, 2 purebred Droughtmasters & a droughty/santa x with some commendable results achieved. We entered this competition to gain feedback of our cattle especially our sires we use. 

This year's competition saw 94 entries. The entries were fed for 77 days at the Gowanlock Feedlot, Tansey. One Vale View entry finished 3rd in the weight gain component of the trial with an adg of 1.948kg/day. This particular entry then went on to finish 18th in the Charlie Cotter Allrounder competition, a combination of weight gain, profitability, carcase attributes and eating quality. This entry was sired by Rondel Korageous out of a Vale View female. 

Another Vale View entry finished equal 11th in the carcase competition. Standout attributes of the carcase were a 57.17 dressing percentage (dressed weight of 255kg) an eye muscle area of 86 cm square, meeting the fat specs spot on and achieving perfect scores of 10/10 with measurements of 10mm at the P8 site and 6mm at the rib. The marbling score was a perfect 5/5. This entry was sired by Vale View Playboy out of a Vale View female.
